Taggart joined the firm in February 2024 after serving as policy director for the House Energy and Commerce panel under then-Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), capping a dozen years on Capitol Hill. His focus is on helping the firm grow its Energy and Commerce-related practice, he said.
- “We have a really solid health care practice that’s continue to grow,” he said in an interview, adding he sees opportunities in tech, telecommunications, and energy.
The Rare Disease Company Coalition spent $60,000 on federal lobbying in the first quarter of this year, according to a filing. The coalition represents biotech companies and pushes for legislation that aims to spur treatments for patients with rare diseases, Taggart said.
Moving from Capitol Hill to K Street was an adjustment over the past year, he said:
- “In my previous role, I went from being in the room where decisions are made to being on the outside, and trying to get as much info as they’re willing to share.”
